What do the French think about climate change?

To answer this question, we'll rely on a street survey from the YouTube channel "AuFutur".

The first question asked to the French is: Do you feel concerned about the climate emergency?

A small note, but we have several names for the ecological crisis we are facing: global warming, climate crisis, climate emergency. It refers to the same phenomenon.

So, do you feel concerned about the climate emergency?

“We are all normally concerned by this situation and someone who is not concerned, who does not feel concerned, is a little bit unacceptable to me.”

This young woman explains that everyone is concerned about climate change and she explains that someone who does not feel concerned about this phenomenon is unacceptable. That is to say, it is not possible.

“We are the next generation and it is us who will take the reins of the sleigh, I don't know, it belongs to us”

This young woman in the same way explains that it concerns all of us, especially young people, future generations, because they will take the reins of the sleigh. Taking the reins means being in control of something. Young people will take the reins of managing ecology, it will be their responsibility.

“I try to do small things that help to contribute to the climate emergency, like recycling my waste. I think about it more and more. I recently learned that a lot of plastic can be recycled, like all yogurt pots, that's already a lot. I recently learned that everything can be recycled depending on where you live and many municipalities do this. I also try to think, for example, I smoke so I try to throw my cigarette butts not on the street because that is a disaster. I try to be careful with my travel. I just took a Vélib'. I try to do little things that contribute, I hope, to the climate emergency.”

This young man explains that he does small things, small actions every day for the environment. He recycles his waste, especially plastic, yogurt pots. He also thinks about throwing his cigarette butts, the ends of his cigarettes, in the trash and not on the ground. He also tries to move around by bike.

Being zero waste means limiting waste as much as possible, even having no waste at all. Waste is everything we throw in the trash.
